Complete Guide
Esports has long outgrown its reputation as just video gaming. It has evolved into a billion-MYR entertainment industry with a passionate fanbase across Malaysia. Every weekend, thousands of MLBB fans gather in front of their screens to watch MPL Malaysia teams compete. They cheer for their favourite squads, analyse player stats and debate strategies with friends. With my9988, you can now take that support to the next level – bet live on esports matches and turn your in-depth game knowledge into real returns.
Unlike traditional football betting, which revolves around the final result alone, esports betting offers far more dimensions. In MLBB, for instance, you can bet on who draws first blood, which team destroys the first turret, the total kills across each map, or even which team takes the first map in a best-of-three series. my9988 offers more than 25 market types for every MLBB MPL Malaysia match, giving you a wide range of options to put your analysis to the test.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has become a symbol of Malaysian esports. Teams like Team SMG, Geek Fam MY, and RSG MY don't just compete for the MPL Malaysia title — they also represent Malaysia on the international stage at the M-Series World Championship. Each MPL Malaysia season runs from January through November, meaning there's esports betting available at my9988 almost year-round for MLBB fans.
What makes MLBB particularly interesting from a betting perspective is its ever-shifting meta. Every new patch can change which heroes dominate, how teams approach drafting, and the overall pace of play. Bettors who keep up with the meta and have a solid grasp of each team's strengths and weaknesses hold a clear edge when making informed betting decisions. my9988 provides up-to-date match statistics to help you make more informed decisions.
For Malaysian DOTA 2 fans, my9988 is your go-to companion throughout the DPC circuit season and especially The International. The International is the most prestigious esports event and carries the largest prize pool in the global esports calendar. Every year, players from around the world contribute to a collective prize pool that can reach tens of millions of dollars – making it a spectacle no fan wants to miss.
Beyond The International, ESL One Kuala Lumpur holds a special place in the DOTA 2 calendar because it takes place right here in Malaysia. That makes it a particularly meaningful event for the Malaysian DOTA 2 community and local esports fans alike. my9988 opens dedicated betting markets for every major event, with competitive odds and a variety of exciting betting options.
FPS (first-person shooter) games like CS2 and Valorant are gaining serious traction in Malaysia's esports community, especially among players aged 18 to 30. Valorant in particular has grown at a remarkable pace since launch and now has a VCT league that the local community follows with real enthusiasm.
Bet on CS2 and Valorant at my9988 offers an extra dimension compared to MOBAs. In FPS titles, you can bet on individual map winners, map handicaps, over/under round totals, and during live matches — on the outcome of each round. This means fresh betting opportunities arise every few minutes throughout a match, making the viewing experience far more exciting.
Unlike pure gambling, smart esports betting involves in-depth analysis. Before placing money at my9988, consider several key factors. First, the head-to-head record between the two teams – has one side consistently dominated the other in past meetings? Second, recent form – are they on a winning streak or going through a rough patch? Third, roster composition – are there new players who may need time to settle in, or veterans who are currently at the peak of their game?
A fourth factor that is often overlooked is match format. Some teams perform better in a best-of-one format than best-of-three, and vice versa. Teams with a broader and more flexible strategy tend to do better in longer formats, as opponents have more information to adapt their game plan. All of this analysis helps you make more accurate betting decisions at my9988.

Betting Strategy
Successful esports betting takes more than just knowing team names. Here's a practical guide from us.
It's easier to build deep knowledge in one game than to try to understand every title at once. Pick MLBB or CS2, go all in, and master it before moving on to the next.
Player transfers, injuries, or a player currently serving a ban can sometimes have a significant impact on a team's performance. Staying on top of this information can give you a real edge in your betting decisions.
My9988 offers in-play betting while matches are in progress. If you're watching live, you can use your real-time observations to place more informed bets.
Some teams consistently perform better or worse against certain opponents. These patterns tend to repeat and can serve as a solid foundation for your betting analysis.
Group stage betting works differently from knockout matches. Teams may play more cautiously or take risks depending on their qualification needs within a given format.
Enjoy esports betting as a form of casual entertainment. Set a reasonable daily or weekly limit and stick to it. my9988 provides self-management tools to help you stay in control.
